Nashville Children’s Theatre is looking for dedicated college students to serve as interns for the summer of 2008.
The internship would provide students with experience in areas of theatre education, creative drama and artistic administration. Interns will serve as teaching assistants to professional teaching artists, help with and/or facilitate beginning and end of day games with campers, help design, plan and implement sharings, performances, special events and ceremonies for campers, and assist with administrative duties and safety protocol involved in running a camp.

NCT offers 10 weeks of summer camp beginning May 27 and ending August 8 with offerings for rising 1-12 graders. There is no camp the week of July 4. Camps run generally from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Interns would report May 22 and ideally be present for full days for the duration of the summer; however, other arrangements can be considered.

Interns will be subject to a background check and the theatre requires each intern to be certified in Child and Infant CPR and First Aid. If the intern does not have current certification, NCT will sponsor a course to do so. This is an unpaid internship, and interns are responsible for their own housing.
