Out
with the Old to Prepare for the New
On Tuesday, April 10,
removal of NCT's seats began.
Clearing out all 690 of them
was a huge job.
Beginning with the back of house right, the rows were unscrewed,
pried and
yanked away from the floor that had held them for
almost 50 years.
By Thursday afternoon, after three days of hard work, the seats
were gone,
and the cleared room is ready for the next step.
That next step was removing
the boards from the stage floor!
(The plus shaped bit that remains is the trap door.
You
can just still make out the checkerboard floor treatment
from Schoolhouse
Rock Live!)
The boards were pulled
from the stage and tossed into the empty theatre.
Another step completed.
NCT continues
to raise funds for this long-overdue physical improvement. If
you'd like more information,
or to make a donation, please e-mail Allison
Dillon, NCT managing director,
or Paige
Byron.
