Children's Theatre's
New Building Development
Ground Breaking ceremony
On Thursday, September 21, NCT celebrated
the groundbreaking for our new building. Mayor Purcell, The Cat
in the Hat and the Mayor of Whoville led the festivities. This
event kicked off the construction for our new building which
will open in late 2007.

Mayor Bill Purcell was on hand to assist with
the digging. Assisting the Mayor, (left to right) Jay Turner, representing
the James Stephen Turner Family Foundation; Tammy Johnston, NCT
Board Chair; the Mayor; Monica Flynn Urness, NCT Immediate Past
Board Chair; and J.D. Elliott of The Memorial Foundation. Both
foundations -- together with NCT's Board of Trustees -- have provided
leadership funding for the theatre's capital campaign.

Taking a a turn behind the shovels is Horton the
Elephant, JoJo, The Cat in the Hat, The Mayor of Whoville
and Gertrude McFuzz.

NCT continues
to raise funds for this long-overdue physical improvement. If
